Massachusetts Public Records
With its deep, historic roots in U.S. history, the state of Massachusetts is located in the New England region of the United States bordering the Atlantic Ocean. With a total area of 10,555 square miles, this state measures approximately 183 miles in width by 113 miles in length. Massachusetts was the 6th state admitted to the Union on February 6, 1788. The state's climate is considered to be a humid continental climate, offering warm summers and cold, snowy winters. Though the winters are less extreme on the coastline, Massachusetts does experience cases of extreme weather at times including summer thunderstorms, and hurricanes and tornadoes at other times during the year. Massachusetts is most well known as the home of many prominent politicians, most notably the Kennedy family and the Adams family. In addition, Plymouth, the second permanent English settlement in North America, dominated the New England region for many years. Massachusetts history also includes the infamous Salem Witch Trials.
