The Idaho Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics maintains birth and death records from July 1911 to present. Older records may be found in county records where the event occurred. Birth records in the state of Idaho are considered confidential for 100 years, while death certificates are considered confidential for 50 years. Requests for birth or death certificates may be made either by mail or online through third party vendor VitalChek.
