Connecticut Public Records
Connecticut is located in the northeastern portion of the United States, and it is typically considered to be one of the New England states. Though it is small in size, measuring only 70 miles wide by 110 miles in length, it has a significant population. Connecticut therefore ranks as the fourth most densely populated state in the country. Water comprises 12.6% of its total area, and though the state is rich in its maritime history, interestingly, there is actually no direct access to the sea; Connecticut is bordered on the south by the Long Island Sound. Due to its northeastern location, it is no surprise that winters are cold in the state, with average yearly snowfall measuring anywhere from 20 to 60 inches. Spring is characterized by a considerable amount of rain, and summers are known to be hot and humid. Hurricanes, tropical cyclones and thunderstorms are common to this region, and the state averages about one tornado during the year. Visit the state of Connecticut to enjoy a wide array of shellfish including clams and lobsters. In addition, the aircraft and transportation industries are significant in the state, largely due to Connecticut native Gustav Whitehead's research into powered flight around the year 1901, at least two years before the Wright brothers took flight at Kitty Hawk.
