Hawaii Public Records

Hawaii, the youngest of the 50 states, entered the Union on August 21, 1959. As the only state comprised entirely of islands, Hawaii is located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, at a considerable distance off the southwest portion of the United States. The coastline is about 750 miles long, and the total area of the state is roughly 10,931 square miles. A large portion of its total area (41.2%) consists of water. The state of Hawaii offers visitors and residents a tropical climate, though the weather can vary dramatically among the islands. In general, there are two seasons consisting of the dry season from May to October, and the wet season from October to April. Hawaii is most well known for being a tourist destination, home to numerous world-class resorts and beaches, and while it is quite popular with visitors, residents have a more difficult time. The cost of living is extremely high when compared to other major cities in the United States. The median value of a home in Hawaii is more than double the national median home value.
